I knew my life would change far more than I expected. This changed a lot of people’s lives. From this point, I would spend 3 years overseas.

I have heard certain service members that joined after 9/11 state that they are more patriotic or better than others because of it. This attitude totally degrades the service of the people before them. These same soldiers go around bragging and have conceited attitudes. They feel that everyone owes them something.

This is problematic when they act this way to civilians, especially veteran civilians. I had this situation happen to me recently. I just kept my mouth shut. Someone else pointed out to the soldier that I had served in Iraq. That soldier immediately got quiet and didn’t say another word about it. He realized I knew he was feeding the room a load of crap.

My point is that 9/11 is a source of unity, not a source of narcissism. Please thank soldiers for their service and remind them of the veterans they have followed.

Mind crotch?

My BS will be in Management. I am getting closer to the age of being in a position of management. It isn’t for a lack of ability or competence that I am not one right now. I am most likely going to have to find another job once I have completed the degree. My company doesn’t really have any advancement opportunities, so I need to look elsewhere.

I held leadership positions while I was in the Army, but this seems to be a different monster. I am not yet proven in the civilian world’s eyes. It is frustrating at times, but I look at it as paying my dues. It is hard to get a company to at least take a chance on a 26 year-old manager or supervisor.

I worry that I will either be too young or too old or too experienced to be get a managerial/supervisory position. I am sure things will work out, but my uneasiness about the situation is irking me. Am I just over-thinking or am I spot on?

Most of us have that family member that we are not so proud of. Many of us have more than one of those. I am one who can lay claim to the multiple family members. Whether in-laws or blood related, these people tend to drive us crazy and make us question whose genes they received.

My family and I have been through a lot in the past 3 years with both sets of families. It is hard for some family members to realize that people grow up and have their own families. Attention is taken away from their selfish acts and they raise the level of their antics.

What they don’t realize is their behavior only pushes people away. Pride and selfishness are the main cause of the family rifts. The especially sad cases are when the children act more like parents than the parents themselves. Parents demeaning their own children to make themselves feel better about their own shortcomings.

I’m not saying to completely shutoff family, because family is there when others are not. Redefining roles and who is in the family is probably the best course.

Letting your actions build your reputation and character is the way it should be. One should not be defined by the actions of a selfish fool.

This made me realize how much our actions are noticed and how much of an effect a little deed can have on a person.  Our actions speak volumes of our character and our morals.  What do we say to people with our actions? Does it match what we want to say? We should realize how much we are intertwined with each other how much good we can do with simple acts of kindness.

I just can not fathom what Mr. Ireland was thinking when he asked that. I completely understand that the organization is looking to invest a lot of money into their pick, but where do certain questions draw the line? I don’t understand what the player’s mother does has anything to do with his job performance.

Last year the San Francisco 49ers grilled Matthew Stafford about his parents getting divorced. That is an extremely personal matter. Grilling a person for what their parents do is just asinine to me.

What happened to the days of a person’s character was defined by their actions and words rather than what their parents or family does? I’m not even sure of the legality of his questions in the interview.

What are your thoughts? Anyone disagree?

New Haven, CT had a night club patron call 911 6 times for a ride home. The decision to not drink and drive is commendable, but 911 is not a taxi dispatch. What did the person not understand after the first 5 calls?

Colorado Springs, CO had a man invade a home and enter a bedroom. He woke the occupants up and showed his hand gun. He then realized he was at the wrong home and he then left without incident. I am glad no injuries occured, but I think some crooks have hit a new low.

What are some odd stories of spoiled debauchery in your area?

I realize I haven’t posted in a while. Life has been extra busy with work, school and projects at home. I will try to squeeze in some more posts.

On this particular day, Poppy woke up feeling extra accomplished and entitled.  She hopped out of bed only to see, a male poodle shining and as beautiful as she.  At first she was flustered at the sight of this guy. “Who does he think he is? I am only beautiful poodle needed here.”  Then he smiled and showed her his butt. “Oh my! His butt scent is as nice as can be.  I wonder what he does to make those glands smell so sweet.”  Poppy was saying all of this out loud. She didn’t even realize until it was too late.  Winston, the stud, had a big smile on his face. Poppy ran and hid under the couch.  She could not face him, so she left her behind sticking out.  One minute later she felt a great rush.  Winston had then stuck his nose on her butt!  Surprised with a yelp, she hit her on the couch.

Winston was bragging about his scent over hers.  Rage flew over Poppy the poodle, but then she remembered.  She ate oodles of noodles the night before. This was a guilty pleasure she ate, but it was about to work out in her favor today.  She calmed down and chided Sir Winston, “Give it one more whiff will you please. I fear my position was the cause of the scuffle.”  Winston just smiled and said “Sure, okay. It still will not top my scent of the rear.”  Poppy just nodded and presented her rear.  Just as his nose got right up close, Poppy laid a big fart. Right in his face was the noodle induced gas.  He keeled over backwards and his body went stiff. “That is what I think of your attitude mister Winston.  I rule this house and everything in it.  Know your place stupid boy. Here, ladies run it.”

She trotted off with pounce her step. “Thank you oodles of noodles”, she thought.  Poppy was queen of the house once more and thanks to the noodles,  Winston will never smell her butt anymore.

This is the first post of my little experiment. I was asked to write a story about poppy the poodle. I ran with it and this story is completely off of the top of my head.
